Harry Redknapp could be in contention to become the new West Ham United manager, according to a report from Football Insider.

The 72-year-old has not been in the dugout since his spell at Birmingham City in 2017, instead focusing on a career as a pundit whilst also taking part on ITV's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

However, according to the report, his name is on a shortlist of candidates to replace Manuel Pellegrini, should the club sack the Chilean.

It also suggests that they would be looking for someone on an interim basis until the end of the season and that David Moyes, Sam Allardyce and Alan Pardew are also potential targets as well as Redknapp.

The Hammers are currently enduring an awful run of form, losing seven of their last nine Premier League matches and winning just one (Transfermarkt).

According to The Guardian, if they lose again against Southampton on Saturday that could be that for Pellegrini, meaning that West Ham would be searching for a new manager.

After seeing that Redknapp could replace Pellegrini if a change is made, many fans were actually quite open to the idea.
