West Ham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been slightly on edge all day as they nervously await news as to whether or not they have got their hands on a European champion.
According to reports in The Guardian, West Ham are negotiating personal terms with AC Milan striker, Carlos Bacca, after their £26m offer was accepted last week.
The Colombian striker has eluded Slaven Bilic so far in this transfer window, but the London club remain hopeful of landing their man.
The 29-year-old netted 18 times in 38 appearances for Milan in his debut season at the San Siro. However, it was reported last month that the former Sevilla man is keen to play in a European competition this season, something Milan will be unable to do following their 7th place finish in Serie A.
The Europa League winner with Los Rojiblancos, for whom he scored 34 goals in 72 games, has reportedly come round to the idea of joining The Hammers after initially being reluctant to leave the legendary Italian side.
The third top scorer in Serie A last season could well become West Ham’s 5th signing. Wiht Sofiane Feghouli, Havard Nordtveir, Toni Martinez and Gokhan Tore all having arrived at the London Stadium so far this season.
