West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere has been discussing his future and the possibility of a return to Arsenal as a coach, and a lot of the Irons fan base would be happy if he left sooner rather than later.
It is crazy to see how the former England international’s career has ended up, as per Transfermarkt. In 2011, he was bossing a Champions League match against Barcelona at the age of 19 and distinguishing himself on a pitch with players like Andreas Iniesta and Lionel Messi also on it, via Givemesport.
Should Wilshere be sold?
Now, nine years later, the midfielder can’t get into a West Ham team that sit 16th in the Premier League, via BBC Sport. This has been largely due to injury, something which has ruined a lot of his career.
The fact that he has only managed 566 minutes of football, via WhoScored, since signing for the east London side in July 2018 due to these injuries has seen a lot of fans grow frustrated and, instead of accepting that this is part of the risk they took when they signed Wilshere, they now feel it is best for both parties if he moved on.
His latest comments have seen him discuss returning to Arsenal as a coach. He outlined: “As I said, I still see myself as an Arsenal man. I’d definitely like to be back at some point, yes,” according to Urban Arsenal, via Arsenal’s official In Lockdown podcast (Part 1 and Part 2).
It seems like some Hammers fans haven’t been too pleased with the comments as they are keen for him to move on as soon as possible. Here is what some of the supporters said following Wilshere’s comments:

Shot to pieces as a player. Suspect he’ll still spend more time on the physio’s bench then the players as a coach.

Nah, it’ll hang on and get his money for nothing from us first.

Wilshere becoming more delusional by the week during lockdown – the only time he will be “going back to Arsenal at some point” will be either to watch training or as a fan. Wilshere needs to actually try to be fit enough to play instead of touting who he would like to play for.

I see a lot of potential in him. He should pursue his dream…

Don’t slam the door on your way out, or catch your foot in it.

Just another player using us as a platform to retire, or springboard. When will we learn
