Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are certainly delighted with the way the club has performed in the summer market.
After last summer’s moves, fans were certainly eager to see that the club had learned its lesson about gambling on unproven Premier League players and it appears that is what has happened.
The likes of Joe Hart and Javier Hernandez, then, are seasoned Premier League professionals and many Hammers fans think the club is going to go well this season in the top flight.
You can certainly see why they think that, too, and the deals may not be over just yet with Andre Gray one of the names to be linked with the club recently.
Indeed, that is what has come about from well-respected source on Twitter @ExWHUemployee, who was speaking on the West Ham Way podcast – via The Daily Star.
They said of Gray:
“Andre Gray is still a potential one. He’s out of contract in a year and if we can sell Fletcher, and if we maybe sell Feghouli as well, that opens up the possibility for him.”
Interestingly enough, Ashley Fletcher has now been sold to Middlesbrough and so the opportunity to try and bring in Gray appears to be opening up – something West Ham fans would likely be once again happy with.
Andre Gray proved himself to be a very competitive Premier League player last season with his pace proving a handful for many established defenders.
Indeed, he’s surely going to want to play at the highest level he possibly can now he’s shown that and with Burnley and him not being able to sort a contract out yet, West Ham could profit.
He’d inject some much needed pace into the Hammers’ attack, then, and so this one could really work.
