West Ham manager wants five more summer additions

West Ham supporters at the bar in the Football Transfer Tavern will be delighted to hear this recent news regarding transfer plans.  Boss Slaven Bilic feels his squad needs five more additions before the season begins next weekend. Hurrah, get the round in!

The Hammers have a hectic season ahead with domestic, cup and Europa League commitments on the horizon and they could play five matches before the end of August after a 3-0 win over Domzale.

The Croatian manager was without a whole host of stars for the match against the Slovenian minnows, which the Hammers came through as 3-2 aggregate winners.

Dimitri Payet, James Collins, Angelo Ogbonna, Aaron Cresswell and Manuel Lanzini all missed out last night, with several youngsters being named on the bench for their first game in the London Stadium.

And speaking after the game, Bilic said he was a little worried that his squad was looking a little thin ahead of the Premier League season, which starts next weekend.

“Basically we have five games before the September international break and this squad is not big enough.

“Hopefully we will have a minimum of five players to add to this squad,” Bilic said.

West Ham’s first Premier League fixture will see them face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on the 15th August.
