West Ham will be delighted with their form of late as they aim to build on a very strong December and continue on for the rest of the season.
Manuel Pellegrini said he would improve things at the London Stadium, which he has done. After losing their first four games of the season, they find themselves in the top half of the table as they continue to battle it out to finish as high as possible.
With a great squad when all are fit, the Hammers are right where they should be and yet things could get even better if they spend some more money during the January transfer window.
No fewer than ten first-team players are currently injured and a position that has been damaged because of that is the right-back role.
Ryan Fredericks is injured whilst Pablo Zabaleta struggles to play 90 minutes during this gruelling Christmas period. That means signing a right-back, for example Argentinian star Fabricio Bustos, would be a very sensible idea.
Bustos, (who is valued at £11.2 million on Transfermarkt) would surely be the perfect replacement for ageing Pablo Zabaleta.
At 22, Bustos has four caps to his name as part of the Argentina squad. That is impressive, much like his league form for Independiente, where he has two clean-sheets and two assists to his name in 13 appearances this season.
It takes a player with some ability to make it into the Argentina set-up, as Pablo Zabaleta would know.
Both players have great hard-working traits but understandably at a younger age, Bustos has a strong turn of pace that makes him a big asset when recovering defensively and also striding forward in attack.
Is Bustos the right-back West Ham need… Let us know!
