West Ham have made a poor start considering all the hype that surrounded the club over the summer.
Having recruited Manuel Pellegrini, a Premier League winning manager and then spending a further £100 million on talented players, fans rightly believed that this was to be a turning point for the club.
Unfortunately it hasn’t been the case so far and West Ham sit in 13th place. There is still a lot of room for improvement in their side and as well as a number of key injuries, the Hammers will be struggling up until January when they have another chance to splash the cash.
A left-back has become a position of great desire for West Ham and they would struggle to find a better option that Borussia Dortmund’s Raphael Guerreiro.
Guerreiro, who is valued at £16.2 million on Transfermarkt, would certainly be a massive improvement on West Ham mistake-ridden duo of Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell.
The Portuguese international similarly likes to dart forward like most other full-back but as well as an attacking presence, he is just as good defensively.
After making four Bundesliga appearances so far, Guerreiro could find that at his age, he is better suited to playing regularly and West Ham could offer just that, unlike Borussia Dortmund.
If signing Raphael Guerreiro wasn’t already a great idea for West Ham, the 24-year-old can also play as a central-midfielder, another position that the Hammers are looking to improve upon.
David Gold and David Sullivan spent a lot on West Ham over the summer but viewing their season so far, more needs to be done to put the Hammers in the place they want them.
