West Ham plot move for impressive potential Payet replacement

There’s not been a lot to shout about on the positive front for the West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern this season, though things have improved of late.

While the Hammers have largely had to endure a relatively unhappy time of things in the London Stadium, they can at least enjoy the rest of the campaign in comfort and last week’s win over Tottenham will live long in the memory.

So, things are looking up it seems. Indeed, reports from the Daily Mirror have gone down a storm amongst the Irons in the bar.

They claim those in claret and blue are very keen on bringing the impressive Swansea City star Gylfi Sigurdsson to Stratford this summer in a potential £25m deal.

While the Welsh side are understood to want to keep the Iceland international – who has nine goals and 12 assists this season – relegation could reportedly force their hand.

Indeed, West Ham are believed to have a long-standing interest in the former Spurs man and could make a move this summer.

As you can imagine, the thought of him strutting his stuff as a potential replacement for the villainous Frenchman has gone down well indeed.
