Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful of a strong second half to the season and, according to Le 10 Sport (via Sport Witness,) their summer signings might be decent, too.
The Hammers are gradually moving away from the relegation fight and now look set to try and mount an unlikely European charge before the end of the season.
Their form is up and so is their players’ confidence so our landlord reckons a late surge for the Europa League could just be doable.
Do that, and the club could still mark this season as a success whilst their summer targets are appearing more impressive than the ones they brought in at the beginning of this campaign.
Indeed, according to the report, the Hammers are interested in signing Bacary Sagna from Manchester City with his contract up at the end of the season.
The French defender has a wealth of experience at the top level under his belt thanks to his days with both City and Arsenal and our landlord believes that he’d be a great solution to West Ham’s problematic right back area.
