West Ham reportedly on the verge of playmaker agreement

While the West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern have largely been delighted about the nature of their performances WITHOUT Dimitri Payet, there’s little doubt the saga surrounding the Frenchman is becoming a bit much right now.

Rarely has the Tavern seen such a hero fall from grace so quickly after the 29-year-old told the Irons he no longer wished to play for them, though there have been some rather conflicting reports of late.

There have been suggestions on this side of the channel that Marseille had given up their reported interest in the playmaker, though French outlet Le Parisien yesterday claimed otherwise.

According to their report, the two clubs DO remain in contact over a potential deal for the midfielder and could even be ‘on the verge’ of an agreement to bring the Les Blues star back to Ligue 1. He only left the Stade Velodrome 18 months ago, though hasn’t been himself since his return from the European Championships.

The idea of him leaving no longer scares our east London locals and they just hope things are sorted as soon as possible.

Will Payet ever play for West Ham again? Let us know below…
