The West Ham fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Football Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports that one of their squad is looking to leave this summer.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, striker Diafra Sakho has requested a transfer as he couldn’t get the guarantees that he would be a first team regular for the club next season.
With manager Slaven Bilic looking to bolster his forward line with a proven striker, the 26-year-old has decided his future lies elsewhere.
Just last month, Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce made an £11m offer for the striker, and it remains to be seen now the request has gone in if he is tempted to come in for him once more.
West Ham are currently on a tour of the US and Sakho was left out of the 22 chosen for the tour by their Croatian boss, which has further added to speculation surrounding the Senegalese striker’s future at the club.
Should the forward leave East London he will have made 47 appearances and scored on 17 occasions in two seasons at the club.
West Ham fans, what do you make of Sakho’s request? Would you let him go? Let us know in the comments below…
