As our punters surround the bar, anxiety fills the room as the West Ham fans walk into the Transfer Tavern. It has been, to say the least, a disastrous season for the men in claret and blue and yet still it could get a whole lot worse…
With the delight of agreeing a move to the London Stadium, which was guaranteed to come with a quality West Ham team, all Irons fans have been actually delivered is broken promises. The owners really have gone too far this time and due to their tight spending, the Hammers have a real conundrum.
Some of the more positive fans still believe that West Ham will be okay this year and if that’s the case, then the summer transfer window will be the biggest and most important the club have had for years. Clearly, there is a real lack of quality and amount of players in the club but us punters believe that the owners won’t have to spend all the big bucks, instead just use the money wisely for once.
That’s why, if West Ham remain in the Premier League, they should target Leeds forward Kemar Roofe, a man valued at £3.15 million on Transfermarkt. Since transferring from lower league Oxford a couple of season’s ago, Roofe has made the Championship his own and his impressed consistently for a poor Leeds outfit this season.
Having made 33 appearances across all competitions this year, Roofe has scored 12 goals and also assisted four. West Ham will be familiar with the success they’ve had when signing players from the second tier of English football, for example, Aaron Cresswell and Michail Antonio. The Hammers will be slighted on edge though, if Roofe turned out to be the next Jordan Hugill…
There is no way to tell but us fans think that the rapid rise to stardom should earn Kemar Roofe the chance in the Premier League with West Ham.
