The West Ham fans in and around the Transfer Tavern can’t wait for the new season to begin with Manuel Pellegrini now at the helm and judging by the early summer spending, the Hammers mean business.
West Ham last season struggled and only escaped relegation with a few games to go. Since moving to the London Stadium, that transition hasn’t allowed the club to become the team they want to be and it now relies on the co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan to spend money on some top talents. Having already brought in Ryan Fredricks, Issa Diop and Lukasz Fabianski, our punters now what West Ham to focus on recruiting a forward – someone like Moussa Dembele of Celtic for example.
Dembele, (who is valued at £5.4 million on Transfermarkt) has again this season been a crucial player for Celtic on the way to their treble-winning season, scoring 8 goals and assisting 7 in the league alone. At 21-years-old, Moussa Dembele has proven his potential out in Scotland with Celtic, accumulating interest from an array of teams during his short time with the club.
The Hammers relied on Marko Arnautovic heavily for goalscoring ammunition last season but his form isn’t guaranteed to be as good next season. With Dembele’s fine potential, a move back to London could be appealing for the former Fulham man who will eventually look to prove himself in the biggest league in the world.
As West Ham look to financially back Manuel Pellegrini, bringing him a top goalscorer and one filled with ambition and potential would only boost their chances of a better and more successful season next year.
