West Ham fans probably really didn’t want the season to end after a spirited run of three wins in a row. That kind of form is pretty unheard of in East London of late, so it was good to see the team can actually enjoy some sort of consistency.

Obviously, Manuel Pellegrini’s side enjoyed a fantastic end to the campaign, where they finished in the top ten for the first time since the 2015/16 season. Indeed, they were just five points off European qualification and fans are positive in thinking that if Manuel Pellegrini gets a significant budget once again this summer, he could really make a difference.

Football clubs across the world use the transfer window as a chance to have a clear-out and West Ham will be no different.

With players leaving, the real question fans want to know is who will be staying? After a successful loan spell, Marcus Browne may have just put himself in contention for a place in the West Ham first team next season. Browne, (who is valued at £225k on Transfermarkt) enjoyed a season on-loan with League One side Oxford United, where he provided nine goals and five assists.

The 21-year-old is a versatile attack-minded player that has featured anywhere from the wing, to attacking midfield and centre-forward this season.

With fantastic skill, turn of pace and strength, there is nothing to suggest he would fail to make an impact in the first team so it is important he is given a fair chance during pre-season. The London Stadium certainly needs some excitement and turning to the youth academy seems like a fairly easy way of doing that.

The West Ham Way and all that...

After all, he is young and hungry, exactly what Hammers fans love for their players to be. Clearly, there is already plenty of competition in the forward department at West Ham but giving a chance to Marcus Browne after his great campaign is the least Manuel Pellegrini should be doing.

Would you give Marcus Browne a chance next season? If not, why not? Let us know!
