The London Stadium has been home to unpleasant scenes both on and off the pitch this season but nothing would make the Hammers inside the Transfer Tavern happier than to know their team will still be in the Premier League next season.
With West Ham well amongst the relegation fight, it’s hard for anyone to call right now who will be relegated to the Championship. The Irons have had a number of problems on the pitch and more specifically in midfield. With injuries and lack of transfers coming into the club, West Ham currently see themselves with just Mark Noble and Cheikhou Kouyate as the only recognised senior midfielders at the club.
Whatever happens to the Irons, this issue needs addressing and a signing who could prove to raise a few eyebrows to say the least is capturing Lucas Tousart, Lyon’s 20-year-old central-midfielder. With his valuation already being £22.50 million on Transfermarkt, that figure really does prove how good he has been for the French side this season. The talented midfielder broke through the ranks last season and has ensured over the course of the two seasons in the first team that he is one of the first names on the team sheet.
Although Tousart isn’t a player to be scoring goals and creating assists for teammates, what he does bring to a team is hard work, an impressive passing range and no fear in flying into crunching tackles. Although he is only 20, Tousart seems to be interest of many top teams from around the world although if West Ham want to be taken seriously again in the Premier League, Tousart is the type of quality player they need to build a strong future and cement their status in the top flight of English football.
