West Ham should improve their attacking options with capture of £7.65m-rated Norwegian

The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern are glad they’re safe but are still worried that their owners lack the ambition and determination the fans do to better themselves as a club this summer.

The future of manager David Moyes is still up in the air after the Scotsman succeed in the task he was set, which was to keep his team up, but his dry, defensive football seemingly bores the fans and some want a manager with more flair to take the club forward.

Although they have been one of the top goal scorers between the teams placed 10th and 20th, our punters believe that it wouldn’t hurt to strengthen their attacking options even more with the addition of FC Basel winger Mohamed Elyounoussi, who is valued at £7.65 million by Transfer Markt.

With his 12 goals and 17 assists so far this season, the 23-year-old has been in sensational form. The Norwegian international can play on either flank or through the middle as an attacking midfielder.

Champions Man City found out how good he was when he put in a star performance, scoring and assisting in Basel’s 2-1 over City in the Champions League.

West Ham face the uphill battle of keeping Javier Hernandez, in particular, this summer, who could look to leave given his lack of game time, therefore the Hammers may need a top replacement and the 23-year-old would be exactly that adding bundles of pace and power down the wing.

The Hammers simply must improve their team this summer. Their transfer policy has been questionable at best over the last few years, and so moving for players with proven talent needs to be on the agenda. Undoubtedly, Elyounoussi has proven his worth this term – and so a move for him makes a lot of sense.
