The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been forgiven for forgetting that the club do actually have strikers in their ranks, despite their very public chase for a new one.
While the Irons have so far been unable to land a marquee marksman, top brass in East London look to be standing firm over a forward currently in their ranks.
According to the Daily Mirror, Diafra Sakho has been warned by co-chariman David Sullivan he will not be allowed to leave The Irons until a suitable replacement is found.
This comes after the Senegal international handed in a transfer request earlier this month after Sunderland had a £11m bid turned down for the striker.
This seems to have led to a break down in the player and clubs relationship, with the 26-year old being accused of refusing to fly out to Austria for pre-season.
He refutes this claims, as he remains in England complaining of illness, after missing the USA tour at the start of pre-season.
Several other clubs as well as Sunderland are interested in Sakho, with a list of suitors that are thought to include West Brom, Hamburg and Sevilla.
What do you think West Ham fans?! Do you want to see Sakho leave? Who do you think would make a good replacement? Would Carlos Baca make a good signing? Let us know in the comments below.
