As quoted by Belgian outlet DH, Cheikhou Kouyate has said that he wants Youri Tielemans at West Ham with our resident Irons here in the Transfer Tavern thinking that would be a good signing.
The Hammers have really struggled this season for form and confidence and are still fighting against relegation despite beating Burnley 1-0 in the week.
That goal came via a rebounded Mark Noble penalty and so they’ll be hoping they can push on from that little bit of luck to get themselves up the table.
Certainly, though, many feel new signings are also needed if the club are to get away from the drop and midfielder Kouyate is in no doubt that signing the young Belgian would help them do just that.
Tielemans is one of the brightest young players in Europe and will surely enjoy a career in one of the top five leagues on the continent once he leaves Anderlecht with Kouyate hoping it’s with the Hammers.
The imposing midfielder said:
“He’s my boy. Youri, I loved him from the moment he started training with the first-team.
“I was very proud when I saw him with the Belgium shirt on his back.
“He’ll be in the Premier League soon, too. I just hope for one thing: that it’s in the same team as me because I don’t want to tackle him. On a serious note, he’s developed some more this season, and he’s really, really good.”
Kouyate is pulling no punches here, then. He wants Tielemans at West Ham and our landlord thinks he’d be a top signing for the club.
