West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be devastated by the news coming out that one of their key players could miss the start of the season following a serious injury.
And that’s because midfielder Manuel Lanzini has picked up a serious knee injury whilst training with the Argentina squad and as such will miss the World Cup campaign, with Argentina confirming the news on their official Twitter page.

The winger ruptured his ACL and could also mean he may miss the start of the Hammers’ Premier League season, which will upset a number of the locals in the Tavern.
Lanzini was a key man last season during their disappointing year and would have wanted to make an impact under new manager Manuel Pellegrini – however, he may have to wait a number of weeks before he is able to do so.
Landlord’s Verdict: The Argentine had worked hard last season and had managed to force his way into the first-team for the national side under Jorge Sampoli following his performances for the Hammers, but his World Cup dreams are now in tatters after a gutting injury setback,
The West Ham fans will likely be disappointed as well given he is unlikely to be available for their opening games, and his injury blow could force Pellegrini into the transfer market for a player in a position that he may not have had plans to try and strengthen.
