West Ham suffer early potential blow ahead of Huddersfield clash

Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are eager to see their side get back to winning ways this weekend coming after what has been a pretty poor start to the campaign this year.

The men from the London Stadium have had a slow start to proceedings once again this year and there is early pressure on Slaven Bilic to turn things around before they end up having a campaign as bad as they did last season.

For sure, then, their game against Huddersfield coming up is already of big importance with the Premier League new boys starting this season in good form and so whoever wins will surely be handed a big boost.

Ahead of the game, meanwhile, it seems as though the Hammers are already set for a setback with claiming that Andre Ayew could be out with an injury after picking up a knock on international duty with Ghana.

The tricky forward would be in contention to be called upon this weekend if fit but it looks as though that is up for debate right now at this point in the week.

It remains to be seen, then, as to what happens next.

Landlord’s Verdict

The African forward is the kind of player good enough to help West Ham get out of this early season rut but he is certainly a doubt for their big game against Huddersfield.

It’s not definite that he is going to be out just yet, of course, but the club will certainly be sweating on his fitness right now.
