West Ham have hardly started the 2019/20 season with a bang. The Hammers have picked up just a single point from their two opening games, losing their first one 5-0 to Manchester City at home and drawing with Brighton, though fans will surely be hoping there’s more to come this season.

Manuel Pellegrini’s quotes on Carlos Sanchez, however, don’t appear to have excited the Irons faithful.
West Ham’s Colombian midfielder is hardly a fan favourite, yet according to Pellegrini, who was speaking to the West Ham website, has claimed that along with Andriy Yarmolenko, the midfield man will be an important player at The London Stadium this season.
The fans, as you will see very clearly in the tweets included below, couldn’t disagree more. The Colombian midfield man missed most of last season with injury, and according to Spotrac, he’s on a weekly wage of a whopping £50,000 per/week, money that would be best served elsewhere.
You can read the Hammers’ verdict on Pellegrini’s quotes here:
What’s ‘important’ is that Sanchez isn’t good enough for the Premiership and we desperately need a proper CM.

Yeah, Sanchez can play a big part, give him the Hammerhead mascot costume.

Sanchez might be important. In helping us drop points.

Yarmalenko isnt a bad player but its gonna take time to get him back to fitness. As for sanchez id rather play with 10 men than put him in my side #hopelesswasteof 70k a wk.
