The West Ham United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are not best pleased this evening after receiving some disturbing news surrounding the future of one of their star players.
According to Le 10 Sport via Talk Sport, Read Madrid will press ahead with a bid to sign the sensational Dmitri Payet following Euro 2016 after identifying the Frenchman as one of their primary summer targets.
The 29-year-old only made the move to West Ham United last summer but his form during the 2015/16 campaign has alerted some of European football’s biggest clubs.
Payet netted 12 goals during his debut season in the English Premier League and was one of the signings of the season, with his form contributing to West Ham securing a respectable seventh place finish.
One West Ham fan is waiting for his pie and peas meal deal to arrive here in the Tavern and he is gutted by this news, however he does claim that if Madrid come calling then the Hammers will be powerless to prevent their star man from departing.
