West Ham United were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Sheffield United on Saturday (via BBC Sport), a result which extends their winless run in the Premier League to four matches (via Transfermarkt).
It was a disappointing afternoon for the Hammers, with several of their players failing to produce a good performance at the London Stadium.
However, one player who did come away with some credit was Scottish midfielder, Robert Snodgrass.
The former Aston Villa loanee was handed a start by manager Manuel Pellegrini, only his second of the season in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).
And it would be fair to say that the 32-year-old grasped his opportunity. Indeed he scored the Hammers’ only goal of the game, whilst also playing two key passes, winning two aerial duels, completing one successful dribble and making one successful tackle in the 90 minutes. He finished the match with an impressive WhoScored rating of 7.55.
Whilst most West Ham fans were unhappy with the performance against the Blades, the majority did agree that Snodgrass was one of few to impress. After the game they were giving the Scot plenty of praise on Twitter, here is what some had to say…
So wasteful yet again. We won’t ever kick on until we become more clinical. Snodgrass was our best player didn’t stop all game.

Shame we had some decent chances to put the game 2-0 and Snodgrass was quality 🏴 We go again as always ⚒

Snodgrass was our best player today, shows what can happen when someone cares about the club.

Snodgrass best player on the pitch, shunted out wide then taken off. Lanzini and Fornals made no impact. Yarmolenko very disappointing, esp in the second half
