West Ham United fans on Twitter slate Andy Carroll after Miami photo

West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been laughing at injured front-man, Andy Carroll, as he’s pictured doing not very much during West Ham’s warm weather training camp in Miami. The England striker is currently out of action with an ankle injury but is expected to return to first-team action before the end of the campaign.

West Ham fans will be missing Carroll’s dominant displays on the pitch at the moment, as the target-man hasn’t played for the club since the 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Wembley earlier in the year. In his absence West Ham have struggled, recently losing three games in a row by a three-goal margin. The most recent loss in his last weekend’s home game with Burnley was particularly bad, prompting a number of pitch invasions from angry Hammers.

David Moyes’ side are currently in the thick of the Premier League relegation battle as they sit just three points above the drop in 16th. The Hammers next game in the league is a crucial one, as they face 17th place Southampton at the London Stadium. The West Ham fans propping our bar up will be hoping their side can pull a result out of the bag to put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone, despite the fact Andy Carroll is unavailable for the game.
