West Ham United: Fans react to Matt Law’s scathing assessment of club - West Ham

Daily Telegraph journalist Matt Law has delivered a scathing assessment on the situation at West Ham United following their 1-0 FA Cup defeat against Championship outfit West Brom on Saturday.

Speaking on Sunday Supplement, Law described the Hammers as a “shambles” and openly criticised the club’s training facilities, their stadium, their scouting system and the size of David Moyes’ backroom staff. He went on to suggest that if the east London outfit were relegated from the Premier League this season that they could go on to “fall apart”.

The Guardian writer Jonathan Liew also had his say on the Irons, criticising their owners by claiming that the club was being “ran like a fruit stall” when highlighting that the underachieving outfit were recently ranked 18th on the Deloitte Money League (BBC Sport).

It has certainly been a torrid campaign so far for West Ham. They were forced to sack manager Manuel Pellegrini back in December after a run of nine defeats in 12 saw them plummet down the league table (BBC Sport).

Moyes replaced the Chilean but so far he has failed to have the desired impact, winning just one of his four matches in charge in the Premier League (Transfermarkt) and he has now overseen elimination from the FA Cup.

Most fans on social media thoroughly agree with Law’s assessment of the situation at the club and the criticism of their owners David Gold and David Sullivan. Indeed, several have taken to Twitter to praise the journalist for speaking out about it in the media. Here is what some had to say…
