A lot of West Ham fans were reminiscing over a memorable victory in 2012 whilst also praising former Irons player Jack Collison after the club posted highlights from their play-off semi-final in 2012 on Twitter.
The midfielder scored both goals to give West Ham control of their Championship play-off semi-final after the first leg at Cardiff City, via BBC Sport. They then won the second leg 3-0, securing their place at Wembley.

The Welshman played 121 games for the Hammers, scoring 14 goals whilst providing 10 assists (via Transfermarkt), with the brace in the play-offs probably being his most important for the East London side.
Are the playoffs the best way to get promoted?
The Irons would go on to claim promotion to the Premier League with a dramatic 2-1 victory at Wembley over Blackpool which saw Ricardo Vaz-Te score in the 90th minute (via BBC Sport).
It was sad for all who love football to see that Collison was forced to retire at the age of 30 from the game in 2016 due to persistent knee injuries, as noted by the Independent.
Here is what some West Ham fans said following the club’s tweet:
Should have knocked it in first time Jack. 🙄

Top drawer player. The rocket in the away game vs Leicester in one of the last league games before the play-offs is one of the cleanest strikes you will ever see.
