According to the Daily Mail, West Ham’s young defender Reece Oxford is set to pen a long-term deal with the club, much to the delight of our resident Hammers fans here in the Transfer Tavern.
The teenage defender has got a lot expected of him already, despite making only a handful of appearances for the first team, and has been linked with a move away in recent months.
The youngster has reportedly attracted the interest of both Manchester City and Manchester United as they plan for the future, but it now looks as though he will be at West Ham for the next few years at least.
The news has been welcomed amongst the Hammers faithful here by the bar with one prominent supporter saying: “He’s got the makings of being a real star for us over the coming years and the fact that we can keep hold of him suggests the club itself is moving in the right direction.”
Our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern thinks that Reece Oxford has got a massive future in the game, and thinks that West Ham is still the perfect place for him to develop and mature as a professional footballer.
