Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has dropped the biggest hint yet that he is to try to sign West Ham United star man Dmitri Payet, by confirming in The Mirror that the Frenchman would improve any side in the world.
There had been talks previously that the forward was set to be the subject of a massive bid from the Spanish giants this summer, although it had been nothing more than speculation so far with Madrid and the Hammers miles away on a valuation for the player.
Payet was in fine form for the Hammers last season and the club’s supporters here in the Transfer Tavern have really taken to their player and would hate him to leave.
Madrid could be about to offload a couple of their star midfielders this summer which could pave the way for a move for Payet.
One West Ham fan is in the Tavern’s beer garden soaking up the glorious sunshine and he says that he would leave to keep Payet at the club, although he does think that the club will be powerless to stop him joining Madrid should they make a serious offer.
