The West Ham fans within the Transfer Tavern have seen their team drastically turn round their fortunes in recent games as they now edge slightly closer to remaining in the Premier League.
It has again been a poor showing at the London Stadium with the fans increasingly unhappy about how the board act and how little money they spend on new stars, unlike other teams around them in the league. Before their move to Stratford, West Ham were regulars in the top half and these are the days that Hammers everywhere desperately want to return.
The only way us punters can see this happening is if David Gold and David Sullivan finally let their money do the talking instead of themselves. With a number of positions in need of new talent, the capture of Barcelona’s Aleix Vidal is the perfect way to kill two birds with one stone.
The 28-year-old who is valued at £6.75 million on Transfermarkt can be deployed as a winger or as a right-back and is comfortable in either position. With Pablo Zabaleta ageing and the right-midfield spot having a serious lack of options, the Spaniard would be a good statement signing, should West Ham show their intent to finish higher in the Premier League.
Although Vidal is far from considered as a Barcelona regular, he has still managed 24 appearances in all competitions. Within those games, Aleix Vidal has scored twice and added four assists as well. West Ham are a team who seriously lack competition for places and depth within their squad and with the arrival of a Barcelona man, the 28-year-old knows what it’s like to win trophies and be successful with a team.
Can he replicate his form in Spain and help bring success to West Ham?
