West Ham’s £16m move for prolific forward scuppered by uncertainty with Euro giants

Bacca

West Ham fans are slumped in their chair in the Football Transfer Tavern after they were hit the bad news regarding their pursuit of a marquee signing.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via The Express,) the Hammers could miss out on another big name as AC Milan look to reject their bid for Carlos Bacca.

A recent report in the Daily Mail claimed the Irons had tabled a whopping £16m bid for the Colombian forward, though the Rossoneri are believed to be holding out more towards the £20m mark.

Still, a Chinese consortium have interrupted the transfer as they are on the brink of becoming the majority shareholder of the Italian giants, aiming to restore them to former glories no doubt..

The current owner, Silvio Berlusconi, has tried to offload the club for a number of years and finally it seems to be coming to an end after a period in the proverbial wilderness.

But sadly for ambitious East London outfit, the timing couldn’t be any worse as the prospect buyers have an exclusivity period until June 20.

The 70 per cent stake in the club is set to cost the consortium an astonishing £550 million.

All of this drama means the San Siro giants will not want any transfer activity taking place until a decision is made.

West Ham fans. Should you wait around for Carlos Bacca or move on to other targets? Let us know your thoughts below.
