West Ham United may have just been handed a huge blow as things started to click into gear for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
The Hammers appear to have turned things around with a couple of impressive performances on the bounce, however, one man may no longer be a part of those good times on the pitch.
The Colombian midfielder, who joined the Irons on transfer deadline day, was forced off inside the first ten minutes of the match at the London Stadium and it appears it could be worse than first feared.
It is claimed Sanchez could potentially miss the rest of the season with a suspected medial ligament injury, however, that is yet to be confirmed by the club.
Sanchez’s setback will come as a huge blow to West Ham and they will be hoping he is not out for as long as is anticipated.
The midfielder has made six appearances for the club already and had been producing a number of solid performances in the absence of Jack Wilshere.
The 32-year-old was originally brought in to reinforce Pellegrini’s options in the midfield areas, however, the Chilean may need to revisit the transfer market in January should Sanchez miss the remainder of the campaign.
