It has been a week of mixed emotions for West Ham. They recorded their first win of the season in the Premier League with an impressive 3-1 over Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, but received the news that star man Marko Arnautović is injured.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini will want to keep the momentum as The Hammers host Chelsea today, however, he has a job on his hand replacing the Austrian.
With that in mind, these TWO men must start at the London Stadium today…
There are very big boots to fill this weekend with Arnautović in absentia. But Javier Hernández is certainly a capable replacement.
He has been used fleetingly by Pellegrini throughout the season, as a partner to the Austrian, but it is his turn to lead the line. There is no doubting his ability, having played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe. This is the stage where he can win over so sceptical West Ham fans.
Two goals in your first Premier League start is not bad from the 28-year-old summer signing from Borussia Dortmund. The Ukraine international hadn’t yet found his feet in England, but made a big statement last weekend in an impressive display.
West Ham fans will hope that that brace will ignite his season, and help their club climb up the table. Alongside fellow newcomer Felipe Anderson occupying the other wing, and Hernández in the middle, this appears to be a formidable front three for The Hammers, capable of disrupting any defence in the Premier League.Like what the TT have on offer?
