The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern were delighted when Fabinho moved to Anfield, but now our resident Reds are calling for a bit more action.
It’s been a quiet few weeks for the club. After the excitement of last season, and the quick-fire signing of Fabinho, June was expected to be a month of huge excitement and progress.
It has been exciting, to a point, but it’s fair to say that more deals were expected. Their supposed decision to pass on the signing of Nabil Fekir has left fans, naturally, even more eager to sign a new player or two as well.
Fortunately, Ian Doyle of the Liverpool Echo has speculated that Liverpool could look to take advantage of the situation surrounding Sporting Lisbon. He could be available on a free this summer after apparently rescinding his contract at the Portuguese club – and Jurgen Klopp is apparently a long-time fan.
A quick, technically gifted attacking midfielder, Martins has impressed over in Portugal for the last few years, and last year he picked up 8 goals and 9 assists in the league. He’s rated at £31.5 million by Transfer Markt, and so it’s no surprise that the prospect of a free transfer is enticing.
Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
