Liverpool have been a dominant force in recent times, which has put them in a commanding position as they currently find themselves at the top of the Premier League table.
The Reds managed to secure an impressive victory against bitter rivals Manchester United last time out, as Xherdan Shaqiri stole the show with two goals off the substitutes’ bench.
However, with the January transfer window on the horizon, Jurgen Klopp may be looking to bring in a number of quality players to boost his side’s push for silverware. Indeed, with a replacement for Philippe Coutinho still yet to be found, perhaps the Reds will set their sights on an attacker.
Coutinho was a different class during his time at Anfield as he managed to score 51 goals and provided 45 assists in 201 appearances, which gave supporters some of their best memories.
However, the Reds may soon forget about the Brazilian as Klopp has the opportunity to secure an upgrade in the form of Jiangsu Suning’s Alex Teixeira.
Liverpool previously came close to securing the services of the attacker with the Reds having a bid rejected by his former club Shakhtar Donetsk, but instead he decided to move to China. But, it appears as if the Merseyside club could swoop in for his services once again as they’re reportedly keen on renewing their interest ahead of January.
Teixeira has the ability to play on either wing or in an attacking midfield role, and he managed to find the back of the net 15 times and provided six assists in the current campaign.
So, with the Reds possibly looking to firm up their interest in the 28-year-old, they could secure themselves an upgrade as he has shown that he can produce more goals than Coutinho typically would, along with also providing a healthy amount of assists.
