West Ham United have been in great form recently as they continue to come on leaps and bounds under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini.
The Hammers will be desperate to maintain their recent form as the January transfer window approaches, with the opportunity to secure a number of quality signings.
However, the London club managed to secure one of their first team stars without spending a single penny back in 2013, as West Ham United picked Declan Rice up as a free agent after his release from Chelsea.
Rice joined the academy of Chelsea in 2006, as a seven-year-old, but he was later released at the age of 14.
Indeed, the Englishman was called into the West Ham United senior squad for the first time for the games against Sunderland and Everton in April 2017, after impressing in West Ham’s under-23 team. And, he made his senior debut for West Ham against Burnley on the last day of the 2016–17 Premier League season.
The rest is history as the Englishman has established himself as one of the hottest prospects in the Premier League and a fan favourite at the London Stadium in the current campaign. His passing and ability to intercept is what makes him such a special defensive midfielder, with the talent to mould into a central defender as well.
Rice, 19, has all the ingredients to become a cult hero at the London Stadium, with every single supporter on his side and the world-class performances to match, having come on leaps and bounds on the international stage with the Republic of Ireland and in the Premier League with West Ham United.
