Leicester City fans will be slightly disappointed with how their side have performed in their last couple of Premier League fixtures, as they’ve only secured one point.
The Foxes would be in the clear in the race for a European spot if it wasn’t for their recent run of results, so they’ll be desperate to turn things around with Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea coming up.
Brendan Rodgers will be looking to make his own adjustments in the summer transfer window in preparation for next season. Of course, securing European football would change everything as it would mean that the Foxes can go out and target big-name players, which could take things to the next level at the King Power Stadium.
However, the Midlands club may not need to go out and target a quality central defender this summer as one of their impressive loan players is set to return once his loan deal expires.
Filip Benkovic has spent the current campaign on loan at Scottish giants Celtic. He’s lived up to the hype in Scotland having ensured defensive solidity throughout his time at Parkhead, as well as chipping in with two goals.
He’s already shown that he can grind out quality performances on a consistent basis at the age of 21, so he could become a future star at the King Power Stadium if he continues to develop.
Interestingly, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly (as per Daily Star) instructed Ed Woodward to go out and sign Harry Maguire this summer, so perhaps the Foxes will lose their star man.
Benkovic certainly isn’t on the same level as Maguire but he could help fill the void and would make fans forget about his presence slightly. And, Rodgers was in charge when Celtic signed the central defender on loan last summer, so it’s clear to see that he’s an admirer of the Croatian.
