Wolverhampton Wanderers are in need of a couple of quality summer additions as things have been far from perfect in recent times, with things unravelling at the worst possible time.
The Midlands club need to get their act together if they are to secure a European spot in the current campaign, as they now find themselves in 10th position with three other teams in the race.
Nuno Espirito Santo turned to Morgan Gibbs-White last time out against Brighton and Hove Albion but that didn’t exactly work as he was never really able to create much in the final third.
Wolves need some inspiration in the final third and that could come from Hoffenheim’s Kerem Demirbay.
According to Calciomercato, the Midlands club are interested in the German midfielder.
His current club Hoffenheim signed him for just £1.53 million back in 2016.
Indeed, Nuno Santo has operated with three central midfielders in the current campaign with one of them being pushed slightly higher up the field. Leander Dendoncker has operated in the higher position at times and so has Gibbs-White but neither player has really been able to produce much magic, so it’s time for a change.
Demirbay has produced an impressive four goals and nine assists from an attacking midfield role and in the middle of midfield. He offers something different that could work wonders at Molineux with defence-splitting passes and long-range strikes causing the opposition all sorts of problems over in Germany.
Surely he has to be the priority in the summer transfer window. He’s arguably one of the most underrated players in the Bundesliga and he has all the ingredients to fill Wolves’ creativity void.
