Kieran Dowell is certainly one of Everton’s most exciting academy graduates in recent times, however, a place in the senior side does not appear to be on the cards anytime soon.
The England Under-21 international is a talented attacking midfielder and is definitely regarded as a top prospect at Goodison Park.
He spent the last season on loan with Nottingham Forest in the Championship and became a mainstay in the team as he continued to impress.
However, it does not seem as though he has done enough to be included within Marco Silva’s plans for the first-team.
Dowell has played a part in Everton’s two League Cup games but has only been in the Premier League squad on three occasions, failing to come off the bench in all of those fixtures.
Although still only 21-years-old, questions about his Everton future may still be raised, as he would need to be playing regular football to continue his development.
And, with January around the corner, a loan move away from Goodison Park could be a great option for the attacking midfielder.
A club like Rangers could certainly benefit from a player like Dowell, with Steven Gerrard thought to be keen to add a creative option to his own team.
With the way that the Liverpool legend has been using his loanees this season, the £2.7million-rated midfielder, as per Transfermarkt, would get a fair share of game-time, and a considerable amount more than if he were to stick around at Goodison Park.
With the recent departure of Ovie Ejaria, Dowell could also find himself as a regular in the first-team and playing at a level that would surely help him to develop his game to the next level.
