West Ham United may have had a number of new signings arrive at the club this summer, however, one man has always remained and has become synonymous with the Hammers.
Manuel Pellegrini brought in a number of players to try and improve the club’s fortunes as he looks to turn them into a side capable of competing for European football.
The defence and midfield saw a number of players arrive at the London Stadium, with the likes of Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena, Jack Wilshere, Carlos Sanchez, Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson all joining the Chilean manager.
The number of signings that had been made would have been concerning for some already involved at West Ham, however, one man has managed to outstay every single person that comes to the club.
Mark Noble has been with the club his whole professional career, coming through the academy ranks and is also the current captain.
The skipper, who is also affectionately known as Mr West Ham, has been a mainstay in the team when he has been available, having already seen red this season.
The 31-year-old was shown a red card with a badly-timed tackle in their game against Leicester City, meaning he had to miss the last two Premier League games as well as their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup.
Despite the arrivals of Wilshere, Sanchez, Yarmolenko and Anderson this summer, it appears that Pellegrini still trusts Noble to do the job required to help West Ham get the results needed to climb the table.
However, there may also be a slice of luck to him being able to stay in the side for the majority of the campaign, with three of the four mentioned having been hit with injuries.
Wilshere, Sanchez and Yarmolenko have all been struck with significant concerns, whilst Pedro Obiang has also had to spend time on the sidelines, which has seen Noble partner Declan Rice on occasions in the middle of the field.
Mr West Ham’s future at the London Stadium is certainly assured, however, once everyone is fit and available, it remains to be seen how much playing time he will still have as a Hammer, despite still being their skipper.
