There seems to be a huge crop of talent coming through Arsenal at the moment and Unai Emery looks as though he could have some future stars emerging through the ranks.
Under Emery, Arsenal have made a superb start to the season and have put together a 21-game unbeaten run. The run of form has seen Arsenal rise to fifth in the table and look as though they could well get back into the top four this season. The Gunners will surely be looking to spend in the January transfer market next month in order to sustain their push for Champions League football.
Arsenal need bring in a new defender, midfielder and attacker next month. It remains to be seen how much money the club will have to spend next month and if Emery isn’t given suitable funds in the transfer window, he may have to look to the youth academy to supplement his squad.
Emile Smith Rowe has played four times in the Europa League this season and has also been picked on the bench three times in the league. Smith Rowe is one of the best young players to come through the academy over the years but another youth player who is performing well is current on-loan forward, Reiss Nelson.
Nelson is currently on loan at German side Hoffenheim and has been superb since he joined the club. Like fellow England youth star, Jadon Sancho, the young winger has blossomed since he made the move to the Bundesliga.
Nelson has already scored six goals this season in just four starts for the club and has arguably been their best player over the last few weeks. His pace, ability with the ball and his end quality in the final third has been superb this year. He takes players on at pace and as it stands, it looks as though Emery may have a future star.
He may not have been in the Spaniard’s plans this season but if he continues this run of form, there’s no doubt that he’ll have a place in the Arsenal team next year. Arsenal don’t have too many wingers in the squad and therefore the 19-year-old addition could be an essential addition.
Emery has a special player on his hands and one that simply must get into the first-team next season.
