Wolverhampton Wanderers managed to secure an impressive victory in their last Premier League fixture as they beat Leicester City 4-3 at Molineux.
The Midlands club will have their sights set firmly on securing a European spot in the current campaign, with the financial backing to bring in a number of quality players this month.
Wolves have made a name for themselves on the transfer front in recent years having beaten a European giant and big English clubs to signings. Real Madrid were interested (as per Superdeporte, via HITC) in a move for Rafa Mir before he moved to Molineux, and Chelsea and Liverpool were reportedly (as per A Bola, via HITC) interested in Ruben Neves prior to his move from FC Porto.
Indeed, the defensive midfielder has established himself as one of the rising stars over in Spain this season, which has caught the eye of both Wolves and PSG. He has plenty of potential and has already developed into a star on the international stage with Slovakia, so he looks well worth the purchase.
Although, the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White, Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, Romain Saiss and Leander Dendoncker have all operated in the middle of midfield for Wolves, so it comes as some surprise that they’re looking at Lobotka.
Nevertheless, Wolves could make yet another big statement by pipping European giants Paris Saint-Germain to the signing of Lobotka, as he is on course to become a future star of the game. And, his capture will inevitably help the club build towards their aims of securing European football and a successful future.
