Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan has had a great tournament in South Africa this summer scoring three goals including the winner against the USA that put the Black Stars into the Quarter Finals – a feat managed by only two other African countries previously.
The 24-year-old forward currently plies his trade in Ligue 1 with Rennes but could be winging his way to the Premiership this summer if West Ham succeed in tempting him to Upton Park.
He will be keen to eradicate memories of Friday night when he missed a spotkick in the last minute of extra time against Uruguay which would have put his side, and indeed the whole of Africa, into the Semi Finals.
Here is one of Gyan’s many peculiar goal celebrations as demonstrated during the African Cup of Nations.
