The Argentine forward is currently at the centre of fierce transfer speculation linking him to Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus and Inter Milan.
The 22-year-old forward, who currently plies his trade in La Liga with Athletico Madrid, began his career with Indepente where he scored 23 goals in just over 50 appearances before crossing the Atlantic in a deal worth €23m. Ancelotti has now identified Aguero as his primary target to inject youth into his ageing frontline of Didier Drogba and Nicholas Anelka.
Athletico are remaining stubborn with Club President Enrique Cerezo insisting that their prize asset is not for sale but a bid in the region of £20m is likely to seriously test his resolve. Aguero was selected only once by his Father-in-law Diego Maradona at the World Cup in South Africa but is nonetheless highly rated by his fellow countrymen after bagging eight goals in 24 international caps.
Blues fans will be hoping that his young legs can turn Chelsea’s domestic dominance into much-wanted European glory.
