Why adding this striker has put Spurs in with a real chance of success this season

Spurs endured a frustrating transfer window on the whole as the club had to wait until the final week to get three deals over the line.

The club have endured a poor start to the campaign by their own high standards, drawing with Burnley last time out in what was another poor showing at their temporary Wembley home.

However, our landlord here in the Tavern thinks that this is just a minor blip, and Spurs will come out marching after the international break and begin to fire on all cylinders.

One man he thinks will help their cause massively is one of their new signings, Fernando Llorente.

For too long now Spurs have relied on the goals of Harry Kane, while the signing last year of Vincent Janssen failed to come off as the Dutchman looked out of place in the Premier League.

However, the addition of someone like Llorente, who has a proven record throughout Europe, looks to be the ideal addition to the squad. The big Spaniard gives Spurs and Pochettino an option they did not have before, and his height, strength, and hold up play means they can now mix things up if they are chasing games.

With the likes of Dele Alli, Son, and Christian Eriksen all chipping in with goals and assists too, Spurs now look a genuine threat at the top of the pitch even if the odd injury strikes.

Spurs fans, what do you think to the signing of Llorente? Give us your thoughts below!
