Why Antonio Conte should sign this AC Milan target as a Diego Costa replacement

Antonio Conte is on the hunt for a Diego Costa replacement and Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata could be just that.

According to The Daily Star, Chelsea have submit a £62 million bid for the forward and the La Liga club are said to be considering it despite only re-signing him last summer for £27 million.

The Spanish international has previously played under Conte before when he was in charge at Juventus and he is keen to link up again with his former manager.

The pair won several trophies together in Italy, including two Serie A titles, and punters in the Transfer Tavern are convinced they could reap more success in London together if they link up again.

Last season punters in the Tavern watched the 24-year-old improve his already impressive career record even more after lifting both the Champions League and La Liga.

He wore the Real Madrid shirt on 43 occasions during the last campaign and bagged 23 important goals which played a pivotal role in such a successful season.

Spanish news outlet Don Balon do believe AC Milan are also interested in acquiring his services but the player reportedly doesn’t seem keen on player for Juve’s rivals, with a switch to the Premier League looking like the much more attractive option.

With Juan Cuadrado’s switch back to Juventus, Conte will be especially keen to add an extra attacking option and Morata fits the bill perfectly.

Our landlord believes he would fit into the Chelsea team straight away and given his 6’ 2” frame, he has the physicality to handle the fast paced and aggressive nature of the Premier League.
