Why Arsenal would have a better chance of winning the Premier League if they signed this striker instead of Mbappe

There’s a huge season ahead for Arsenal in the Premier League next season as Arsene Wenger’s men look to bounce from their inability to qualify for the Champions League last time out.

The Gunners fans lining the bar here in the Tavern were bitterly disappointed to miss out on the top four despite winning the FA Cup and it’s left their ability to sign big stars this summer in serious doubt.

Everyone knows that being able to compete with the top brass in the Champions League is a huge pulling factor when it comes to attracting big stars and that’s something that might set the Gunners back over the coming months.

And Arsene Wenger’s continued pursuit of Kyllian Mbappe has been well documented in recent weeks but there’s one man we think the Gunners should be targeting instead.

There’s also been a lot of talk linking Arsenal with a move for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette and we think right now, he’d be a much better signing than Mbappe, despite all of his promise.

Lacazette is one of Europe’s most consistent strikers and despite not making a move to a top European side over the past few years, he’s continued to make the headlines.

The French international is quick, knows where the net is and works seriously hard and has continued to do so in Ligue 1, despite reports continuing to link him a with away.

But right now, we feel Arsenal need proven quality and whilst Mbappe has been quality over the past few months, Lacazette has been hitting the headlines for years now and would be a far better addition when it comes to bringing in a player that knows where the goal is week-after-week.

Of course, bringing him in is going to be the hardest thing for the Gunners but at this stage in the summer and with their need to compete at the top growing, Lacazette would be a far more esteemed signing right now than Mbappe.
