Mamadou Sakho is not in Jurgen Klopp’s plans going forward and the Crystal Palace supporters in the Tavern believe their side should seize the opportunity to sign the defender.
The France international spent the first half of last season training with the Liverpool youth side before being loaned out to the Eagles, who were fighting for Premier League safety.
Sakho registered a number of stellar performances at Palace, showing his former Liverpool employers just what they were missing.
Sam Allardyce’s side managed four clean sheets in Sakho’s eight games, winning five of those, including a 3-0 win over Arsenal – a permanent move to South-London appeared to be on the cards until Liverpool slapped a sizeable £30m price-tag on the player.
The Reds have refused to lower their valuation and ironically Sakho’s excellent performances for Palace has ultimately hindered a move to the Premier League side.
The 27-year-old, who is just as popular with the Liverpool fan base as he is with the Palace supporters settled effortlessly with his family in London during his short stint.
According to Goal.com, Roma are now leading a number of clubs in pursuit of the centre-back.
After conceding 63 times in their 38 league games, it’s a necessity that Crystal Palace bite the bullet and cough up the money.
The defender with 28 caps for the France national side is an aerial threat, reads the game well and possesses a terrific eye for a pass.
Palace fans, we want to hear from you! Would you have Sakho back in a heartbeat or are you better off without him? Let us know in the comments!
