The big questions being pondered by the Gunners fans here inside the Transfer Tavern as they sink a few pints is where was Arsene Wenger’s surprise deadline day transfer yesterday? Where was the news that a big money striker would be joining Arsenal?
For much of summer the north London club had been linked with the likes of Karim Benzema, Gonzalo Higuain and Edinson Cavani. It is the latter of those three massive names, Cavani, that Arsenal were thought to have been considering signing right at the last moment on deadline day.
However, the Daily Mirror are giving reports that are really making some boozy Arsenal fans angry! They claim that Arsenal executives had made calls to PSG in the last few days of the window, but decided against a £50 million move due to a perceived lack of re-sale value as the striker is now 28-years old.
