Liverpool ended up having quite the January transfer window, as the saga around Philippe Coutinho came to its conclusion and the club added a big money signing themselves in the for of Virgil Van Dijk.
The Reds will now be looking to put January behind them and kick on heading into the second half of the season, and they cruised to midweek victory against Huddersfield this past week to underline their potential as top four contenders.
Here in the Tavern, despite being impressed with the Reds and their signings, our landlord feels there is one certain player who has slipped the net and Jurgen Klopp could end up regretting not getting his hands on.
That player is Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon, who has once again been taking the Championship by storm this term, propelling himself among the top scorers in the league with a run of fine form over the winter months thus far.
Sessegnon is a class act, and still in his teens, the sky really is the limit for where he can end up, and he’s bound to have all the big boys chasing him come the summer.
Liverpool ideally should have swooped for Sessegnon this January, and with the player likely to be off in the next window, it could end up that Klopp and co miss out on one of Europe’s top young talents.
Full of pace, ice cool in front of goal, and playing with maturity beyond his years, Sessegnon looks destined for the top, and Liverpool could well regret not making their move to the sign the youngster.
Liverpool fans, what do you think? Would Sessegnon fit at Anfield? Let us know in the comments!
