The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are eager for their side to get a vital win against Apollon Limassol tomorrow night…
The Toffees lost their first game in the competition, and that has increased the importance of their next game ten-fold. Another defeat could spell disaster, and so Ronald Koeman must make sure that his puts out the right side in order to get the three points.
Clearly, his team selection didn’t quite work out last time, and in the Premier League, his fortunes haven’t been much better. As a result, a few changes could be necessary, and our landlord thinks that it might be time for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is rated at £3.15 million by Transfer Markt, to get another chance.
The forward has been a breakout hit at Goodison Park this season, and with good reason. He has performed fantastically, often standing out amongst players that have been signed for millions of pounds. He has yet to score in the Premier League this term, but two goals in the Carabao Cup have proven his worth in front of goal when given an opportunity.
His qualities extend far beyond what he can do in front of goal, though. He is an incredible hold-up player, and he’s fantastic at bringing the rest of his team into the game. At 20-years-old, he isn’t the complete package, but he is showing tonnes of potential, and clearly, Koeman’s options up-front aren’t doing well enough at the moment.
It’s a huge game for Everton, and so Ronald Koeman could be forgiven for not picking an inexperienced forward, but the Englishman has so much talent, and he could help to kick the team into action.
